The 7-day trial

You will learnWhat the trial costs, what a business gets during it, and what happens when it ends.

A business can try any package, Core, Advance or Elite, for 7 days for 100 FCFA, paid with MoMo. On smartbiz.mtn.cm it is called Freemium, and it runs until 31 December 2026.

During the trial the business goes through the same steps as a paying customer and gets a real website, logo and brand kit. Three things are different:

  • the website lives on its free SmartBiz address; the .cm web address is only ordered when the business subscribes;
  • business email addresses also wait until the business subscribes;
  • everything made during the trial carries a watermark.

A reminder goes out on WhatsApp every day, so the owner always knows how many days are left.

When the trial ends the owner subscribes with an ordinary payment for the package they want. Their .cm address is then ordered and the watermark is removed. If they do not subscribe, the website goes offline behind a page asking them to subscribe. Nothing is deleted: everything they made is kept, and subscribing brings it back.

When to offer it. The trial suits an owner who likes the idea but wants to see their own website before paying for a month. It is not a free month: say clearly that it lasts 7 days and that the .cm address and emails come with the subscription.
