The portal and the WhatsApp menu
Signing in to the portal. The portal link comes in the launch message. The owner types their WhatsApp number, receives a 6-digit code on WhatsApp, and types it in. They can also sign in with their email. There is no password to remember. SmartBiz never sends a password on WhatsApp.
The parts of the portal
| Part | What the owner does there |
|---|---|
| Home | Sees the business at a glance, shares the site link, and follows the day-one launch checklist |
| Inbox | Answers orders, bookings and requests from customers, in one list |
| What you sell | Adds, changes or removes products, services, menus, rooms or events, and sets how they trade (delivery, opening for orders) |
| Website | Edits the website's words, pictures and sections, its features and the business details |
| Customers | Sees every customer, what they spend, and the sales report |
| Marketing | Plans social media posts with the Planner |
| Sees each business email address with its password, and opens the mailbox | |
| Brand | The brand guide, business cards, letterhead, email signature and every downloadable file |
| Settings | A portal PIN, the owner's WhatsApp number, staff accounts, the web address, and the plan and bill |
| Help | Answers, quick guides and video guides |
On a phone the most used parts sit in a bar at the bottom; the rest are under More.
The WhatsApp menu. The owner sends Menu to the SmartBiz number and gets a list: Today, Inbox, What you sell, Open portal, Promote (share the business, this week's picture posts, Facebook posts), Website, Brand kit, Plan and bill, Settings and More. Each answer comes with a button to act on it. The owner can also just type a question.
Which one to recommend. Quick things, like answering an order or checking today, are fastest on WhatsApp. Bigger changes, like editing the website or adding many products, are easier in the portal.
